How to play Qwixx Deluxe

Qwixx Deluxe is a dice and card game that involves quick decision-making and strategy. To play, each participant must have a score sheet and a pencil.

Each player must try to mark as many numbers as possible in their four colored rows on the score sheet. The rows are red and yellow (marked from left to right) and green and blue (marked from right to left).

Each turn, a player rolls six dice: two white and four colored, corresponding to the colors of the rows.

First, the sum of the two white dice is announced, and all players can mark this total in any row of their choice.

The active player then combines a white die with a colored die of their choice and can mark this sum in the row corresponding to the colored die.

Players must mark numbers in order in the rows, but not necessarily consecutively, avoiding going back to numbers that have already been skipped.

When a player marks at least five numbers in a row, they can lock it by marking the rightmost number and the padlock icon at the end of the row. That row then becomes inaccessible to all players.

The game ends when a player locks two rows or when any player accumulates four faults. The score is calculated based on the number of marks in each row and the faults.

Main objective

The main objective of Qwixx Deluxe is to score the most points by strategically filling in the colored columns on your score sheet. Players must decide which numbers to mark on each die rolled, following the rule of always advancing from left to right in each row, without being able to go backwards or leave empty spaces. The decision on when to block specific lines for other players while advancing your own markers influences the final score and is crucial to winning the game.

Tips for playing Qwixx Deluxe

  • Concentrate on filling in a color line quickly to earn bonus points.
  • Make strategic use of blocked moves to impose limits on your opponents.
  • Balance between low and high numbers to optimize your choices.

Mechanics of Qwixx Deluxe

  • Paper and pen - In Qwixx Deluxe, each player has a score sheet containing four lines, each represented by a different color: red, yellow, green and blue. Each line has numbers from 2 to 12 (red and yellow) or from 12 to 2 (green and blue). The aim is to mark as many numbers as possible on each line, but always from left to right. Marking a number prevents you from marking any number to the left of it on that line.
  • Data Scrolling - Qwixx Deluxe uses six dice in total: two white and one of each color (red, yellow, green and blue). Each turn, all players can use the sum of the two white dice to mark a number on their sheets, while the active player can also use the sum of a colored die and a white die to mark a number in the row corresponding to the color of the die used. Choosing not to mark a number in a round results in a penalty, increasing strategy and decisiveness in the use of the dice.
