OBJECTIVE OF THE GAME

The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Game is a board game based on extreme situations to test and challenge players' survival skills through critical questions and decisions. Inspired by the book of the same name, the game works as an interactive simulation where participants, with a lot of good humor, have to quickly decide what they would do in the face of frightening or catastrophic scenarios, such as escaping from a bear or flying over deserts without water. I once played the game with friends and we ended the evening debating which strategy would be most effective for escaping from a free-falling elevator, and these practical and entertaining conversations are precisely its greatest attraction.

Tips for playing

Here are some tips for doing better in the game The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Game:

  • If you fall into quicksand, try lying on your back to distribute your weight and slowly move to firmer areas.
  • To avoid a shark attack, stay calm and, if necessary, stand upright in the water and maintain eye contact.
  • In the event of a fire, always stay as close to the ground as possible when evacuating, due to smoke and toxic gases.
  • If you encounter a bear, avoid direct eye contact and slowly move away without running.
  • When you get stuck in an elevator, avoid unnecessary effort: conserve energy and try to communicate to ask for help.
  • To spot a snake in wild areas, make light noises as you walk and use a stick to sweep your path ahead.
  • If lost in forest, follow the direction of watercourses, as they often lead to inhabited areas.

GAME mechanics

  • Memory Challenge - This mechanic tests players' ability to recall essential information in critical situations. During the game, participants will face challenges that require them to memorize specific details, such as lists of survival items, essential procedures or even behavior patterns in adverse environments. The aim is to simulate the pressure of a real survival situation, where efficient memory can be the difference between success and failure.
