Star Wars Customizable Card Game
In Star Wars Customizable Card Game (Star Wars CCG), players immerse themselves in the epic conflict between the Rebellion and the Empire, competing to drain their opponent's 'Life Force' in both ground and space combat. With a vast collection of over 3000 cards, each player has the freedom to assemble a unique deck of 60 cards, allowing for immersive and strategic customization. Although the game went out of print in 2001, a dedicated community of players continues to expand the experience with new free "virtual card" expansions, keeping the game relevant and dynamic. At the start of each game, players choose their decks in secret and lay out the cards on the table, starting with Locations and then placing Characters and Ships. Items such as weapons and equipment can be allocated to these Ships and Characters, increasing the tactical options available. The ultimate goal is to deplete the opponent's life force, represented by the cards in the game; on defeating an enemy ship or character, these cards go to the discard pile, and defeat occurs when a player has no more cards to play. Star Wars CCG is a game of great depth and strategy, which will appeal to both new players and veterans looking for new challenges. How to play Star Wars Customizable Card Game
Set up two decks, one representing the Light Side and the other the Dark Side. Each deck must have at least 60 cards, including characters, ships and locations.
Define which player will use which side. Each player starts with a total of 8 "Force" in their "Force Pile" and 1 "Force" in the "Reserve Deck".
At the start of the turn, players take the perspective phase, where they can move their cards between different "piles" ("Force Pile", "Used Pile" and "Reserve Deck").
During play, use character, vehicle and starship cards to control locations and challenge your opponent's control. Each character card and starship has a different "battle strength" and "abilities".
Complete missions and combats to cause your opponent to lose "Strength", forcing them to discard cards from the top of their "Reserve Deck". When your opponent can no longer lose "Strength", they lose the game.
Create strategies using events and interruptions; these cards influence battles, movements and other aspects of the game, and can reverse situations or trigger specific effects.
Keep resource management, planning ahead and adapting to your opponent's strategies at the forefront of your mind. The balance between attack and defense is key to controlling the board.

Mechanics of Star Wars Customizable Card Game
- Hand Management - This mechanic allows players to strategically manage their cards to optimize their plays. In the game, players have a limited number of cards in their hand and must carefully decide which cards to play, which to keep for future moves and which to discard. This requires planning and adapting to the opponent's actions, as poor management can result in missed strategic opportunities.
- Influence / Majority in the Area - The game uses this concept by allowing players to place characters and vehicles in different locations in the Star Wars universe. Control or influence over these areas often grants advantages, such as increasing force generation or facilitating attacks on opposing locations. The mechanics create a tactical competition for control, encouraging players to balance their forces to maximize their dominance in critical areas.
- Players with Different Skills - In the Star Wars Customizable Card Game, each player takes on the role of a specific faction, such as the Rebels or the Empire, with distinct skills and strategies. This mechanic reflects the asymmetry between the factions, emphasizing the need for different approaches to the game. Decks are customized to maximize the strengths and mitigate the weaknesses of each side, adding strategic depth to the gameplay.
- Modular Tray - The modular board concept is present in the way the different locations in the Star Wars universe can be introduced and organized in the game. These locations are represented by cards which, once played, expand the "board" on which the action takes place. Modularity allows the "board" to change with each game, guaranteeing a dynamic and varied experience, where the arrangement of locations can drastically alter the strategy to be adopted.
