Monopoly: The Mega Edition

Monopoly: The Mega Edition is an expanded and accelerated version of the classic Monopoly. This game features a significantly larger board with 12 additional spaces, including 9 new properties that bring more diversity to the experience. Among the new features, you can acquire California, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, South Carolina and Arctic Avenues, as well as the Gas Company. With the addition of skyscrapers, their ability to generate income becomes even more impressive. Construction now allows you to take your properties to a new level, increasing your chances of collecting "mega" rents. The game becomes dynamic, as you can build houses and hotels as soon as you own three of the four properties in a group, or even two in smaller groups. Each player starts the game with R$2500, including a R$1000 bill, and during your turn you roll two traditional dice and a special "speed" die. This dice can take you quickly to the next available property or, later in the game, it can send you to pay rent on a property that isn't yours. In addition, you will have the opportunity to win "bus tickets", allowing you to move freely around the board, but be aware that they are time-limited! With an estimated playing time of just 1½ hours, Monopoly: The Mega Edition combines the strategy of classic Monopoly with new rules that guarantee a vibrant, action-packed experience. Get ready for a game that's faster, more exciting and a lot more fun!

OBJECTIVE OF THE GAME

The main objective of the game Monopoly: The Mega Edition is to accumulate wealth by buying, selling and developing real estate properties in order to bankrupt your opponents. This edition features a larger board, new properties, skyscrapers and new elements, such as fastpass tickets, which make the game more dynamic and strategic, encouraging players to negotiate and invest wisely in order to dominate the real estate market and win the game.

Tips for playing

Here are some tips for doing better in the game Monopoly: The Mega Edition:

  • Get the Railways as soon as possible; more lines mean more profits.
  • Build houses and hotels in Green and Azure Properties to boost your income.
  • Keep a reserve fund to avoid bankruptcy when you fall into the hands of your opponents.
  • Negotiate wisely; sometimes exchanging property can be more advantageous than accumulating money.
  • Use Skyscrapers to increase earnings on strategic properties.
  • Pay attention to the Lucky and Safe cards; they can completely change the course of the game.
  • Be careful when mortgaging; redeeming properties can be more expensive in the long run.
  • Building in simultaneous blocks is an effective strategy for maximizing revenue.

GAME mechanics

  • Collecting Sets: In Monopoly: The Mega Edition, the aim is to acquire properties of the same color group. When a player owns all the properties in a given set, they can build houses and hotels, significantly increasing the rent charged to opponents who land on these properties.
  • Auction / Bidding: If a player lands on a property they don't want to buy, it is immediately auctioned off. All players can take part in the auction, including the player who refused the initial purchase. The bids start low and increase until only one player is willing to pay the final price, thus acquiring the property.
  • Negotiation: Exchanging properties between players is a crucial strategy in the game. Bargaining involves offering money, properties, or a combination of both to acquire complete sets or desired properties. Players must be astute when negotiating to ensure that they make advantageous deals.
  • Scroll / Rotate and Move: Players roll two dice each turn to determine how many squares they will move their pawns on the board. Rolling the dice influences your turn, where the player can land on properties available to buy, properties owned by other players, or locations with special instructions, such as "Luck or Reversal".
  • Elimination of players: A player is eliminated from the game when he finds himself unable to pay his debts, either because he doesn't have enough money or because he can't mortgage property to cover the amount owed. The player must liquidate all their assets and leave the game, taking control of properties acquired by creditors or going to auction.
