Mega Civilization
**Mega Civilization is a vast and ambitious civilization development game experience, designed for 5 to 18 players, which covers historical development from the Ice Age to the end of the Metal Age, totaling almost 8,000 years of evolution. Each player takes on the role of a civilization leader, seeking to expand cultural influences across a vast map stretching from the Mediterranean Sea to India. Although the game contains elements of territorial strategy and battles, its main focus is not war itself, but progress in various areas such as culture, economics, science, politics, civilization and religion. The aim is to accumulate victory points by building cities and advancing civilization. The player who knows how to balance these aspects effectively will be the most successful and therefore the winner. The game takes place over several phases and turns, with simultaneous actions between the players. After each turn, a check takes place that allows advancement on the archaeological succession table, reflecting the temporal progress of civilization, starting with the Stone Age. The winner is not necessarily the one who reaches the end of the table first, but the one who maximizes their total development. At the start, each civilization begins with a single population token and, over the turns, expands its population by occupying areas on the map. The tokens can be moved by land or sea, and on reaching the population capacity of a region, the player can build cities, which generate trading cards and wealth. During the exchange phases, players deal with goods and calamities that can negatively impact their civilizations. Developing specific advances can protect against these challenges, and is a crucial part of the strategy in the game. As civilization expands, leaders face the challenge of maintaining a balance between population growth, the necessary support for their cities and increasing wealth. Mismanagement can lead to revolts during tax collection, while a strong economy results in higher scores. A game of Mega Civilization usually lasts around 10 to 12 hours, although there are scenarios for beginners and short games, which provide faster experiences, ranging from 1 to 2 hours and 6 to 8 hours respectively. These options allow players of all experience levels to enjoy the intricacies of this monumental game.Artists: Franz Vohwinkel;

GAME mechanics
- Collecting SetsThis central mechanic of Mega Civilization involves collecting trade cards. Players acquire goods, such as grains and metals, during the game and must collect them in sets to increase their value. Larger sets generate more victory points and can be exchanged for technological advances, allowing for strategic progression during the game.
- Area MovementIn this game, players control their civilizations on a map divided into several regions. Each turn allows players to move their units between adjacent areas, allowing for territorial expansion, consolidation of borders and preparation for potential conflicts with other civilizations, providing strategic advantage by possessing critical areas.
- NegotiationNegotiation is crucial, allowing players to exchange trade cards, form temporary alliances or agree on the division of territories. This mechanic requires social and strategic skills to maximize benefits and avoid betrayals, and is especially important in the trade phases. It is up to the players to use persuasion and strategy to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
- Hot Potato: Here, the mechanics refer to the risk of catastrophes that can occur when calamity cards are distributed among the players. These events, such as earthquakes or epidemics, have potentially devastating effects. Players try to mitigate this risk through careful negotiations or by possessing advances that can minimize the damage, introducing an element of uncertainty and urgency into the transactions.
