How to play Camel Up: The Card Game

Start by distributing a Camel card to each player, which indicates the color of the Camel they are supporting. Shuffle the race cards and form a face-down shopping pile.

Each player, on their turn, has to decide between two actions: play a card from their hand on the course or take a new card from the pile. The cards played determine the movement of the Camels in the race.

Players can influence the race by playing cards either to help their own Camel or to hinder their opponents. However, each player can only have a certain number of cards in their hand, so choose wisely when to draw and when to play.

The game continues until all the Camels cross the finish line. The player who supported the Camel with the best performance wins points, and the one with the most points at the end wins the game.

Main objective

The main objective of Camel Up: The Card Game is to predict and bet on which camel will be ahead in a camel race, using cards that determine the camels' movements based on betting strategies and anticipation, in order to accumulate more coins and win the game.

Mechanics of Camel Up: The Card Game

  • Betting Cassadas - Players bet on camel cards with the intention of predicting which camel will be in the lead at various times during the race. Players win money if their chosen camel is in the expected position. Bets can be placed based on the results of the rounds, creating a risk and reward dynamic.
  • Strategic bluff - Players can bluff when placing their bets, leading other players to believe that they have more advantageous cards than they actually do. This can induce opponents to make rash decisions or to bet on less likely camels, benefiting the player who bluffed by diverting their opponents' attention.
  • Efficient Hand Management - Players must manage their hand of cards carefully, balancing when to play camel move cards and when to save important cards for critical moments in the race. Success depends on the player's ability to predict the flow of the game and adapt their strategy with the cards available in their hand, maximizing their chances of victory.
